Travel Agent Mall has migrated its online reservation platform to Iata’s NDC Shop & Book programme allowing travel firms access to BA’s NDC-enabled fares, which do not incur the airline’s £8 Distribution Technology Charge (DTC).
The move means Travel Agent Mall can also now offer BA’s new Short Haul Additional Price Points, known as Shapp fares, which the company says are the “most competitive trade fares in the market”
Moondeep Aggarwal Director head of Travel Agent Mall, said: “We are delighted to be leading the way as the consolidator/wholesaler to adopt Iata’s NDC Shop & Book capability in conjunction with British Airways.
“We are confident in NDC and its ability to provide a market-leading offering to our trade partners, not least the direct-only Shapp fares and the continued DTC exemption, as two initial key benefits.”
TAM (Travel Agent Mall) said it was planning further migration of post-booking services as part of its NDC implementation programme
“With NDC paving the way for new opportunities of product offering and distribution from IAG [BA’s parent company], TAM want to ensure that the UK travel trade has access to some of the best content for British Airways, as this technology continues to evolve,” added Darlington.
Nicola Ping, BA’s distribution development and technology manager, said: “We are delighted that TAM has connected to our NDC APIs and is able to offer all of our NDC content to our joint customers.
“As a key partner, TAM has been able to provide useful development insight into our NDC which enables us to respond to our customer needs better.”
BA and fellow IAG carrier Iberia introduced the DTC fee of £8 for non-NDC bookings in November 2017.
